Why do I fail to connect SQL server from NCS server?

Please following steps for troubleshooing:

  • Make sure you install SQL server from autorun menu of NCS package.

  • If this is the first time to install SQL server 2005 on the PC.

1.) Make sure you specify the sa logon password in process of installing SQL server 2005.

Empty password will cause the failure to connect SQL server from NCS server.

2.) Make sure you type the correct password for sa in NCS server configuration.

  • If SQL server 2005 server has been installed and uninstalled the PC.

1.) Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\, check if there are two files - CMAlarmLog.mdf and CMAlarmLog_log.LDF.

2.) IF they are existed. Delete the two files manually.

3.) If you still fail to connect SQL server from NCS server, please uninstall the SQL server, delete the Microsoft SQL Server folder in C:\Program Files, delelte all Microsoft SQL server registies (Run->regedit->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft) and reinstall SQL server again.
