How to check network connection (Windows XP)
You can check if a particular IP address is connected to the network by using ping.

Ping an IP
1.) In Windows, go to [Start]->[Run]
2.) Keyin cmd in the [Open] section and click [Ok]
3.) Type ping and the IP address and hit enter
- Reply from a good connection
- Reply from a bad connection
